CKCU: Next Steps (2023)

​Woke Studios serves as program lead for the Nexts steps program.‘Next Steps’ was a collaborative project between CKCU-FM and the Pinecrest-Queensway Community Health Centre (PQCHC): an innovative, community-based multi-service centre meeting the needs of diverse communities.

 

The program was offered through PQCHC's Together We Can program, whose goals include: increasing a sense of belonging for Black youth living in low-income or social housing; helping to build a strong cultural identity for Black youth by matching them with Black mentors; increasing and encouraging civic engagement through the development of advocacy skills.
